The Sanctity of Life

abortion-blog

As I sat in church this morning, tears uncharacteristically streamed down my cheeks as I worshiped the Lord. The last few days of watching social media’s hyper-focus on abortion and “pro-choice” have infuriated me and ripped my heart to shreds. Today I was able to enter into the presence of the One in whose truth I abide in and it absolutely overwhelmed me as my heart broke for the lives of those that will be destroyed in particular because of the influence of those claiming the name of Christ who have stood for abortion publicly.

I have two brief things to say today; first to those who have had abortions and second to those who stand for the cause of abortion (which can be two very separate groups in my eyes).

I have two brief things to say today; first to those who have had abortions and second to those who stand for the cause of abortion (which can be two very separate groups in my eyes)

First. If you are a Believer who has had an abortion, PLEASE hear me say that Scripture is clear that you are completely forgiven. Psalm 103:12 says that your sins have been cast as far as the east is from the west; so far that you are not able to comprehend how God has distanced you from them. This, my sister, is Grace. Use your pain, use your sin, your story and your absolute redemption as a platform to speak up and help others who are in the same agony, lonely place and pain you were in when you chose to have an abortion.  Don’t allow the voice of the evil one to make you a martyr again and again and even to go beyond that to shame other believers who stand for life. Fight the enemies lies; you are REDEEMED. Be a rock for teens and young mothers who need someone who completely understands where they have been, yet can guide them to light. The last thing they need are more people excusing them; pushing them to do that which they know deep within their hearts they don’t want to do. Don’t allow your story to cripple your influence or your testimony.

Second. Shame on you if you dare to claim the name of Christ and yet support the murder of children in the womb. You can try to use “science” to justify your action, but the very name you claim contradicts what those around you have filled your head with. God’s words themselves are what you submit yourself to, not science. And if that is not the case, then abandon associating yourself with Christ. Psalm 51:5 claims our accountability as humans FROM CONCEPTION. Psalm 139:13 says we are knit together in our mothers wombs; fearfully and wonderfully made.  Psalm 22:10 speaks to those who are saved that from the WOMB they are chosen and known by God.  This is not about anyones choice but Gods. The “right to choose” is a lie carefully crafted by the great deceiver. The choice has already been made for you, believer. Life begins at conception and you are so beyond accountable before the Lord your God if you promote any other agenda privately or publicly.

I have watched over the past few years so many who I would have expected to stand strong on truth falter and in watching this I have come to realize that those who stand on the Gospel of Christ are few. So may those who stand be encouraged; you are not alone brother and sister. There are others out there who are walking alongside of you and who will never bow to societies pressures. For those who are struggling with their past; be free from the lies of the evil one, allow the peace of Christ to rule in your hearts and go and impact this word for Him; letting the story of His Grace in your life be a testimony to Him. And for all of us who are truly saved; may we run this race in such a way as to win the prize.

  1. May we find ways to befriend and mentor those young women who are most vulnerable and likely to have an abortion. May we find ways to bring hope into the lives that think there is no hope.

    Amen.
